CLIMATE: Trust the experts

I note with interest Wednesday’s letter by Preston W. Wilson Jr. He complains about Cliff Harris and Randy Mann, but all he succeeds in doing is make himself look very uninformed.

He says: “The planet is warming due to use of fossil fuels.” He gives no evidence for what he says. It appears that he is merely repeating what he has heard from some of the radical environmentalists and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

How can he compare himself to Randy Mann when Randy has spent his lifetime studying weather? Take the time to do the research and you will find that most fires today are associated with federal land, there are more homes in timber locations, and little or no work has been done to manage our forests, especially since the spotted owl has become more important than people.

Global warming is not the cause of the fires we face today. Again, a little research will show that we have had serious fires in the past. You may also want to watch an interview of Aaron Mair of the Sierra Club and Sen. Ted Cruz. Mair makes it very clear that he only repeats what someone else has said.
