SONG: A Cd'A sensation
After reading your story on Jackson Dreyer, I immediately went to listen to his song “Coeur d’Alene” on YouTube. I found myself tearing up during the entire song.
While I am much older than Jackson, I relate in every way to his story and his lovely song. My parents also met at Coeur d’Alene High, went on to the University of Idaho, and ultimately settled in the Spokane Valley. But every available minute of every summer for us was spent on Lake Coeur d’Alene. What was then the North Shore Hotel (now The Resort), Cloud 9 at the top, Hudsons, Cedars — many places remain!
Though I had to move away for 32 years to work elsewhere, my heart never left Coeur d’Alene. When it came time to retire, there was only one choice. And while much has changed, much remains the same.
Thank you Jackson for bringing up so many wonderful memories with one simple and lovely song. North Idaho IS a special place that is forever embedded in one’s soul. We appreciate it every day we are fortunate enough to live here.
