THANKS: Batman saves the day

| August 1, 2018 1:00 AM

My husband and I took our little one to McEuen Park on Saturday, July 28. My husband took the first shift watching our child play on the equipment while I stayed somewhat cool in the shade.

During my break, I noticed a doting father of two take special care of his little ones on this warm and dry day. He and his wife were leaving when they came upon a little boy about 2 years old crying and alone. This father, who wore a Batman shirt, took the initiative to help find this little boy’s family.

While this man’s wife waited with their two children, this amazing father walked the lost child around the playground twice and then three times around the splash pad area asking various strangers if they knew anything about the lost child. As I began to approach the man and suggest that we contact the police, two older siblings of the 2-year-old picked up the child and took him to a picnic table near the splash pad. Approximately 10 minutes had elapsed before the boy was reunited with his family.

I didn’t see either sibling or the mother thank this Good Samaritan. This particular afternoon could have turned out to be a nightmare for the mother of this little boy. To the man in the Batman shirt, THANK YOU!
