TAXES: Seniors will be paying more

| April 29, 2018 1:00 AM

Concerning the Schneidmiller development adding 429 more homes. They claim they did a proper master planning and it isn’t right they should have to pay for the traffic study. Maybe they did, but that was in 1993, 25 years ago. Gee, I wonder what has changed?

Is it right that as a senior citizen I should have to pay for more school taxes? I’ve only been paying for the last 50 years, but that is another story.

Is it right that the city planners in their pursuit of getting more tax dollars, never planned for wider streets and keep approving more houses and apartments?

Is it right that many citizens never go downtown anymore because of increased traffic and no parking spaces?

Is it right that these young families with children are not taxed more to fund the schools that are needed? Many of you from California remember a Mello-Roos tax to help pay for the added cost, so that older people would not be taxed out of their homes!

Should they pay $250,000 for the traffic light, heck ya, a small fee from the millions they are going to make?

When they have made their millions, we are the ones who will be sitting in traffic, we are the ones who will be paying higher taxes. We are the ones who will be wondering, why did we ever move here?
