Langham, Brown in first

BURLINGTON, Wash. — Sean Langham of North Idaho College shot a 1-under-par 71 on Sunday for the individual lead, and his Cardinals also lead after the first day of a two-day Northwest Athletic Conference golf match hosted by Skagit Valley at Avalon Golf Links.

Langham leads by two shots over six golfers, including NIC teammate Todd Henderson and Spokane’s Chase Mitchell, a Coeur d’Alene High product, who each shot 73.

NIC shot 293 on the first day, and leads Spokane by nine shots.

In the women’s tourney, Madi Brown of NIC is in a four-way tie for first after shooting 78. NIC shot 247 and is in fourth place, nine shots behind first-place Spokane. The tourney concludes today.
