Jerry P. Morales, 69

Jerry P. Morales, at the age of 69, passed away on March 28, 2018, at Kootenai Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his sister, Maxine Glazebrook (age 77) and two nieces; son, James Morales (age 41) and spouse, Megan R. (age 42).

He was born in Newport, R.I., on March 17, 1949, at the U.S. Naval Hospital, and was a world traveler. At Claremont High School in La Jolla, Calif., he was a cheerleading and track star as well as a multiple-time, champion wrestler.

He enlisted in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam conflict and received the Distinguished Service Medal as an electronics technician specialist. He was stationed on “French Frigate Shoals,” the primary communications hub in the Pacific, until it ‘sank’ due to a tidal surge, which is now a bird sanctuary.

He was a band manager for “Leggs Diamond” in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the 1970s he and Catherine moved to North Idaho and were married and he worked at Bunker Hill in the Silver Valley where his son was born. After graduating from broadcasting school in the 1980s, he moved back to San Diego, where he was a radio DJ for several years.

He moved back to North Idaho in the late ’80s, where he became an award-winning marine sports salesman while continuing to work in the music industry as a manager and promoter. He then got into real estate and investment properties.

Jerry was a generous man who helped many. He had friends around the world, was loved, respected and will be missed by all.
