Rose Marie Potts (Bakken), 66

Rosie, 66, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and best friend, passed away on April 19, 2018, with her family by her side. Rosie was born on Dec. 23, 1951, to Richard and Mae Bakken in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was the youngest of two sisters, Gloria (deceased) and Tricia.

While Rosie lived in northern Nevada, she was raised in northern Idaho and called it home. A celebration of her life and burial will be held this summer in northern Idaho. As well, a celebration of Rosie's life will be scheduled with her friends in northern Nevada at her family home.

Rosie lived her life as the true definition of a mother; her affection and love for her children and grandchildren never wavered. Nothing mattered more than making sure her children were cared for and had everything they needed. She always put them before herself and worried about them endlessly.

She is reunited with her only son, Sean Hoffman. She is survived by her children, Dusti (Ritch) Mason, Misty Hoffman and Jody (RJ) Castodio; two step-sons, Bruce Potts and Michael Potts; and nine grandchildren, two of which she adopted, Logan and Laci Potts.

Rosie was a confidant and best friend to many; none more than her husband of 32 years, Bruce Potts. A second marriage for both her and Bruce, their marriage meant the blending of six children and the adoption of two precious grandchildren. A tale of what true love is; they weathered tough times, laughed through happy times and always came out stronger. Any look or touch showed that they had a truly deep bond, friendship and committed understanding of one another.

Rosie had a real love of animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. There are many stories from friends and family on her love of life and “crazy” antics. Bruce, her children, her family and all her friends lost a bright force in their lives and no one will be the same without Rosie. You will be missed more than words can ever express!
