Sandra Lynn Shardlow, 81

Sandra Lynn (Maidment) Shardlow, 81, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away April 19, 2018, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Sandra was born on July 1, 1936, in Portland, Ore., to Mahlon Evans and Juanita Maidment. Sandra met David Shardlow while attending school at Washington State University and they were married in Spokane, Wash., on Sept. 18, 1955. They raised their son, Rick Shardlow, in Spokane and later in Moscow, Idaho. Their retirement years brought them to the Coeur d’Alene area.

Sandra enjoyed showing dogs, including Irish setters, silky terriers, and standard schnauzers, with some making it to the Westminster Dog Show. She spent most vacations fishing, horseback riding, and cooking amazing meals at the family cabin at Lake Mary Ronan, Mont.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, David; her brother, Keith Evans of Corbett, Ore.; her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Susan Shardlow of Post Falls; her two grandchildren, Eric Shardlow of Spokane and Mackenzie Jeffress of Spring Creek, Nev., and her great-granddaughter, Molly Jeffress.

Sandra was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. A remembrance will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local Hospice.
