PUB CRAWL: Helping those struggling with ALS

On March 10, Matt’s Place Foundation hosted its third annual pub crawl raising over $28,000 to assist families with ALS. Matt is a retired U.S. Marine and Coeur d’Alene native who was diagnosed with ALS in February of 2015. While the financial impact of this disease for Matt was greatly lessened by the medical benefits provided by the VA, he was alarmed to realize the terrible financial toll that it can have on people living with this disease and their families. No money from this event goes to Matt.

The event started at the Cd’A Plaza Shops and 12 local establishments participated to make it a fun evening. They included; the Moose Lounge, the Rocker Room, Seasons, Sweet Lou’s, Taphouse Unchained, 2nd Street Cantina, Beacon, Collective Kitchen/The Filling Station, Coeur d’Alene Eagles, Crickets, DogHouse, Fine Brewed and the Iron Horse. Coeur d’Alene Paving and Coeur d’Alene Redi Mix were the major event sponsors. Kootenai Title, Prianos and the Cd’A Eagles were huge sponsors along with more than 100 businesses and individuals who gave willingly. This event was possible due to more than 50 volunteers.

On behalf of the Matt’s Place Foundation Board, the Pub Crawl Committee, Matt and Theresa Wild, and everyone who will benefit from the money raised, THANK YOU to all who came and participated in any way.
