Catholic Daughters read up on heaven

| April 21, 2018 1:00 AM

COEUR d’ALENE — The book “Heaven is for Real” by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent will be the subject of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Our Lady of the Lake Court #1447 annual book review and tea Saturday, April 28 at 1 p.m. The book review and tea serves as a fundraiser for local organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Birthright, Right to Life, seminarians, and more.

Event chair Louise Bluhm said the club chose the book because of its amazing story. “Heaven is for Real” tells the true story of a young boy who died, was resuscitated, and claimed he met Jesus Christ in heaven. A movie by the same name is frequently featured on Lifetime, but the book is better, Bluhm said.

The event will take place at St. Thomas Parish Center located at N. 10th Streeet and E. Indiana Avenue in Coeur d’Alene. Refreshments, door prizes, and a raffle will be available. Tickets are $10 each.
