EBERLEIN: Deserves re-election

| April 20, 2018 1:00 AM

I am very happy with the way Commissioner Marc Eberlein has been representing we citizens of Kootenai County for the past four years and I encourage you to join me in voting to keep him on as County Commissioner.

My wife and I have known Marc Eberlein for several years and I can assure the readers that he is an intelligent, knowledgeable, level-headed, and principled, yet compassionate, man of solid character who is dedicated to serving the people of Kootenai County. Moreover, with four years’ experience in the job, he is well qualified to continue serving the community as commissioner.

As an advocate for the proper role of government, Mr. Eberlein recognizes that he has a fiduciary responsibility to spend the people’s money wisely, and does whatever he can to avoid spending increases and even reduce spending wherever possible. For instance, in his first term, he found a way to save us taxpayers $750,000 on county insurance costs. In his next term, he wants to save us another $2-$4 million by privatizing the county’s solid waste management services.

In addition, I know firsthand that he has been very responsive when citizens have brought up issues of concern regarding the county, and has worked with them to resolve those issues.
