Shippy, a senior third baseman from Lake City High, was named Big 12 Player of the Week after finishing with 11 hits and two doubles in the team’s series against Baylor. Shippy now has 53 career doubles and is just three shy of the Big 12 career record. Including a three-hit showing at Kansas April April 5-7, Shippy has recorded multiple hits in each of her last six games and reached base safely in 37 consecutive games. Shippy currently leads the Big 12 in batting average (.492), on-base percentage (.642), walks (46) and runs scored (58). She ranks among the top two nationally in all four of those categories.
