CENSUS: Citizenship fair question

| April 18, 2018 1:00 AM

The question of citizenship should rightfully be included in the census. A person should proudly proclaim that he/she is a legal citizen. If you have broken the law and living here illegally, you would not answer correctly or not at all. Maybe we would get a more correct census for voting rights and federal programs for legal residence.

The politicians on both sides appear to be short sighted. The immigration issue should have been settled prior to taking a census. An immigration avenue of some sort could have incentified illegals to comply to the census question for accurate counting. Then certain groups could call them documented. Seems like the government still continues to waste resources because of political divide.
