Wendy Hersel-Smith, 69

Wendy Hersel-Smith, 69, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Wendy was born Nov. 23, 1948, to Helen and John Bremgartner, in Long Beach, Calif. Wendy had five siblings, Danny, Bill, John, MaryAnn and Elizabeth. She is survived by her brother, Danny and his wife, Bambi; her children, Tony Mills and his wife, Alicia; Dan Mills and his wife, Sarah; Anna Lombard and Bo Mills. Wendy also has seven grandchildren, DJ Mills, Hannah Mills, Brittany Karst, AJ Mills, Meagan Mills, Emma Lombard and Isabella Lombard. Wendy also has one great-grandchild, Bentley Karst.

Our mother had many talents. She was a singer/songwriter and an author early in her life, before branching out into business for herself and purchasing the Second Act consignment store in Coeur d’Alene. Wendy then went to North Idaho College and eventually cosmetology school, and soon became an instructor there. She worked at several salons before finding her calling of doing hair at senior living homes, which included Life Care of Coeur d’Alene. Wendy really enjoyed making seniors look good and gained many friends as she did their hair.

We would like to acknowledge her friends at Post Falls Terrace, where she lived before becoming ill. Knowing our mom and her faith in Christ, we know that she is now in heaven.

The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date.

Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
