William R. Lewis, 56

William R. Lewis, 56, passed away March 21, 2018 at his home in Hayden, Idaho. He went peaceful after a long illness with his loving wife Judi at his side. He was under the care of Crest Home and Hospice.

Born Dec. 26, 1961, Bill was preceded in death by his father, William A. Lewis, and mother, Donna R. Beardslee. He is also preceded in death by his daughter Nichole and his son Christopher John Lewis. He is survived by his sister, Georgia Schaff, and his wife of 22-plus years, Judi.

Bill worked retail most of his working life. He worked for Home Depot as well as Lowe’s. He managed many departments and was well liked. He would go the extra mile to ensure everyone was happy.

In his youth, he was an IMSA race car driver. He raced at Laguna Seca, among other road courses. He taught snow skiing to children and elderly at Heavenly and Squaw Valley. He loved scuba diving and roller coasters. He definitely had the need for speed.

Bill was a loving father. He made sure that Chris had as much quality time as possible.

Bill lived formerly in Hagerstown, Md., before retiring to Hayden, Idaho in 2015. Bill was a cheerful guy with a positive attitude. His faith in God gave him the strength to keep fighting his illness until he could not.

Services to celebrate his life will held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 11 a.m. at His Place Church in Post Falls, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage donations to the Crest Home and Hospice or to the Kidney Foundation.
