PRESS: Conservative equals success

| April 15, 2018 1:00 AM

I read with interest Cd’A Press Publisher Lawrence Riley’s impassioned plea to not let the Facebook – Google duopoly cut “off the blood supply (money) the newspapers need to prosper.” I wholeheartedly agree that the duopoly hands our rights of information access to a biased few and the duopoly are openly and proudly censoring whoever disagrees with them. An uninformed electorate will not long survive.

What is interesting to note is that The Press is now experiencing what true conservatives have experienced for decades, namely, media sources pitted against them because of inherent power and financial media monopoly. This shouldn’t ever happen under our constitution and Bill of Rights.

There is an alternative to your financial dilemma. I personally know of many people who refuse to subscribe or to advertise in the CdA Press because of its perceived liberal bias. As an alternative, maybe if The Press would embrace a more conservative perspective, your paper may prosper.
