Jean Doloris West, 78

On Friday, April 6, 2018, Jean Doloris West was called to heaven at the age of 78 following a brief, but difficult battle with ALS. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Andrew West. She is survived by her brother, Neil Petty and her four children, Dani Varney, Ed West, Dale West and Mick West. Jean will also be forever remembered by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends, as the one with a smile that would light up any room and with endless hugs for all.

Jean was born in Denver, Colo., on Nov. 16, 1939. She and her husband raised their family in the San Gabriel Valley of California. She was a great supporter of her children’s activities, namely baseball and band, where she made many friends.

Jean worked for the Anaheim Convention and RCS as a convention organizer before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1990. She was an avid bowler with the local team, “The Bowling Mamas,” in the Alley Cat League at Sunset Bowling, where she played for many years. She was also her great-grandson Hunter’s biggest hockey fan, consistently supporting the Warhorses and rarely missing a game.

A closed memorial service will be planned for a future date by the immediate family.
