Courtesy photo The Sting Timbers FC ’05 Boys Red, coached by Mike Thompson, are 3-1 in the PSPL Super League this spring. Last Friday they beat Spokane FC-Cooper 6-1 at Canfield. Isaac Fritts scored a hat trick, and Cooper Prohaska, Landon Lee and Drew Hanson each scored once. Landon Lee and Caden Thompson each had assists, and Miles Taylor had eight saves in goal. On Saturday the Sting beat Tri-Cities FC 5-0 in a downpour at Canfield. Landon Lee had a hat trick, and Cooper Prohaska and Caden Thompson each scored once. Gunner Larson, Cooper Prohaska, Logan Haynes and Christopher Mongan each had assists, and Miles Taylor had the shutout in goal. They went undefeated in pool play and went to the gold bracket and finished in first place. Sting Timbers FC ’05 boys white: The Sting traveled to Lewiston on Saturday and beat the Hells Canyon FC 05 Boys 3-1, with goals by Brayden Ristic, Boston Spear and Trenton Anderson.

On Sunday, the Sting beat NCYSA Venom from Omak 3-2 in a home game. Sting goals came from Isaac Fritts, Boston Spear and Gavin Schoener.

Sting Timbers FC ’03 Girls: The Sting beat the SSC Shadow Elite-Krum 9-1 last Saturday in Spokane. and came away with a win by a score of 9-1. Kali McKellips had 2 goals (assist by Amber Aittama) for the Sting Timbers, followed by Myah Rietze with 2 goals (assist by Breanna Widener), Chloe Biediger with 2 goals, Breanna Widener with 1 goal, Isabella Henkle with 1 goal, and Amber Aittama with 1 goal (assist by Kali McKellips). Goalkeeper Hailey Parks had 1 save.

Sting Timbers FC Girls ’04 Red: The Sting played two PSPL league games this past weekend. The first game was played at Dwight Merkel Sports Complex in Spokane, against the IEYSA Scotties G04 Snell squad, and the Timbers won of 4-1. Sting goals were scored by Isabella Lucky, Kayla Dearmin (2), and Ellie Morrisroe, and Kayla Dearmin, Isabella Lucky and Olivia Wyatt had assists.

On Sunday the Timbers hosted the Spokane Foxes Pumas FC ’04 Kropp team at Canfield Middle School, and won 5-0. Goals were scored by Isabella Lucky (2), Molly Foster (2) and Olivia Wyatt. Danika Nowak had the shutout as keeper.

Sting Timbers FC Boys ’06 Red: The Sting beat TC United B06 3-2 on Saturday morning. Connor Jump led Sting Timbers with 2 goals. Haidyn Jonas had 1 goal and 1 assist. Zack Cervi-Skinner had 1 assist.

On Saturday evening, the Sting Timbers lost to Issaquah FC Gunners B06A 2-1. Kason Pintler scored the lone Sting goal on an assist from Haidyn Jonas.

On Sunday afternoon, the Sting Timbers FC beat Seattle Celtic B06 White 3-2. Haidyn Jonas and Kason Pintler each had 1 goal and 1 assist for STFC. Max Entzi scored 1 goal. Braden Latscha was in goal in all three games for STFC.

Sting Timbers ’07 Girls: The Sting beat the Spokane G07 Slack 6-2 on Saturday. Rachel Corette had a hat trick, Natalie Thompson scored two and Annabelle Rogers one.

North Idaho Inferno FC Hartzell Girls ’07: On March 25 the Inferno defeated Spokane Foxes Pumas FC 07 Ostby-Marsh 2-1, with goals from Ellie McGowan and Isabella Berzoza.

On April 8 the Inferno beat FC Spokane G08 Escobar 2-0 with goals from Kennedy Hartzell and Ellie McGowan. Danielle Todd was in goal for the shutout.

North Idaho Inferno FC Hartzell Girls ’06: The Inferno defeated IEYSA G06 Breakers FC Red McCabe 8-0 on March 25 with 4 goals from Riley Brazle, and a goal each from Juliette Gilmore, Kennedy Hartzell, Ellie McGowan and Kyndall Wells.

April 8 the Inferno lost to FC Spokane GU06 McGarity 2-1, with the lone goal from Kennedy Hartzell.

Sting Timbers FC ’04 Boys Red: The Sting defeated FC Edmonds Force 3-0 on Saturday. Noah Janzen scored two goals, Alex Reyes one. Andon Brandt had an assist, and Devyn Ivankovich posted the shutout in goal.

AAU BASKETBALL

Clinics near: In preparation for the 2018-2019 season, the Storm club will hosting free skills clinics starting this Sunday and running throughout the spring and summer. The clinics will be open to boys entering the sixth grade in September. The skills clinics will be on Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be no charge for these clinics as players will be evaluated to possibly join the Storm club team for the 2018-19 season.

Storm Skills Clinics are scheduled to be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 812 N. 5th Street in Coeur d’Alene, corner 5th and Reid. The gym entrance is off the rear parking lot. Doors will open at 1:45. Boys are asked to bring a basketball.

Dates are: April 15, May 20, June 10, June 24, July 8, July 22, Aug. 5 and Aug. 19.
