POST FALLS — The Cardinal men won the two-day Bigfoot Invitational, hosted by Community Colleges of Spokane at The Links. North Idaho College shot an even-par 288 Monday to finish two strokes ahead of second place Lewis-Clark State College. Sophomores Todd Henderson and Brady Nelson lead the way with under-par rounds of 71.

Chase Mitchell of Spokanne CC — a freshman from Coeur d’Alene High — earned medalist honors, firing a 74 on Sunday and 3-under-par 69 on Monday for a 143 total.

The Cardinal women finished in fourth place. They played better on Monday with sophomore Madi Brown shooting 78 and freshman Mackenzie Robins shooting 79, NIC golf coach Russell Grove said. However it wasn’t enough to move that far up the leaderboard, which was topped by Lewis-Clark State.

Up next for the Cardinal golf teams is a home event, the NIC Invitational, April 15-16 at Avondale Golf Club.
