Graf returns home after being struck by vehicle in early Feb.

The city of Spirit Lake is welcoming home one of its own.

Longtime community volunteer Catherine Graf, 77, was seriously injured on Feb. 3 when she was struck by a vehicle while walking in a pedestrian crosswalk in Spirit Lake.

Graf’s injuries were critical and she was hospitalized.

She is returning home today where she will continue recovering, according to Spirit Lake spokeswoman Heather McDaniel.

The incident in which Graf was injured prompted calls for increased safety for pedestrians along Hwy 41 which runs through the city.
