POST FALLS — The Post Falls Police SWAT team, officers and the U.S. Marshals Service responded to a Post Falls home late Tuesday night in search of a wanted 39-year-old male.

The agencies sought Christopher Clay Gober, of Post Falls, who has two warrants for his arrest, but authorities were unable to locate the man at the home in the 2200 block of Columbine Court off Poleline Avenue and Chase Road.

"Around 10 p.m. we received notification that he was at the residence, but he was not home and remains on the loose," said Post Falls Capt. Jason Mealer. "The SWAT team was called out due to his violent criminal history."

Officers responded around 10 p.m., then the SWAT team arrived around 11 p.m. and remained at the home until 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Mealer said.

"A perimeter was formed and multiple attempts were made to reach him," said Mealer, adding that police used loudspeakers and attempted to contact Gober on his phone. "But he wasn't there after all."

Mealer said the SWAT team served a search warrant to enter the home, but no one was inside.

Gober was found guilty of misdemeanor domestic violence for an incident in November 2017. He was wanted on a probation violation. His criminal history dating back to 1994 also includes convictions for DUI, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, escape, aggravated assault, intimidating a witness and inattentive driving.

The U.S. Marshals Service provided no further information about the response when contacted Wednesday afternoon.

Anyone with information about Gober's whereabouts is urged to contact Post Falls Police at 208-773-3517, leave an anonymous tip at postfallspolice.com or contact their local law enforcement agency.
