PRESS: Turnout overwhelming

| April 4, 2018 1:00 AM

The power of the press speaks again.

A story on the Norwegian Waffle Breakfast March 24, sponsored by the local Sons of Norway Lodge, attracted 86 diners in the first hour and nearly 150 by the end of the second hour. We had to stop a half hour early due to lack of supplies, despite replenishing them at 10.

We apologize to any who were turned away and hope you will try us again. Though we prepared for 75-100, we hadn’t anticipated an even heavier demand.

The popularity of these heart-shaped waffles at our September Heritage Fair prompted the March breakfast event, but doubling September’s number was still inadequate preparation.

Thank you, Coeur d’Alene Press, for the publicity, and for those who missed out, you needn’t wait until next March; we serve them for an hour at the heritage fair. We also have a delicious lunch at that event to persons with reservations. Sept. 22 will be here sooner than you think!
