Steve Dolan, 68

Stephen (Steve) Philip Dolan, 68, of Woodinville, Wash., passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018, after a battle with lung cancer. He was born May 24, 1949, in Spokane, Wash., the son of the late Philip Edwin and Mary Louise (Hazen) Dolan. He graduated from IHM High School in 1967 and Gonzaga University in 1971.

Steve married the love of his life, Janet L. Brown, on Aug. 5, 1972, in Spirit Lake, Idaho. He loved spending time with his family, building a lake cabin with his own hands, entertaining grandchildren, barbecuing and driving the boat for water skiers.

Steve is survived by his wife of 46 years and their three sons, Edward Stephen Dolan and his partner, Heather and her son, Wyett; Ryan Christopher Dolan and his wife, Jill; and Paul Philip Dolan and his wife, Andrea; three brothers, James, Timothy (Debbie) and David; their sister, Anne and ten grandchildren, Katie, Sarah, Keegan, Caleb, Thomas, Addison, Lucas, Steven, Marissa and Ellie.

Steve served for 42 years at Boise Cascade, including 32 of those years as branch manager of the Building Materials Sales and Distribution Center, in Maltby, Wash. He especially loved working with people.

Steve was always engaged in and encouraging positive works within the community. He was a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Woodinville, who served as club treasurer, membership chair and auction chairperson. He led Rotary’s campaign to develop Woodinville’s Wilmott and Rotary Community Parks. He was treasurer of the Scholarship Foundation of Northshore, a supporter of the Maltby Food Bank, official treasurer of the Township of Grace (AKA Dole-out-Dolan), past board member of the Lake Cavanaugh Improvement Association, and long-term board member of the Western Building Materials Association. Steve was co-founder and active advisor for Dolan Academy and Learning Center in Woodinville.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Gold Creek Community Church, 4326 148th St. S.E., Mill Creek, WA 98012. The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2018, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Spirit Lake, Idaho, with Yates Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
