Mott sparks Cards' sweep of Blue Mountain

POST FALLS — Maddi Mott struck out seven, scored four runs and drove in another four to power North Idaho College in a 17-2 win over Blue Mountain in the opening game of a Northwest Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday at Post Falls High.

Kalyna Korok, who drove in seven runs in the second game of Friday’s sweep of Treasure Valley, had two hits and four RBIs in the opener for NIC.

In the nightcap, Mckenzie Schaller, McKensie Brittos, Kayla Curtan and Lake City High product Bailey Cavanagh had three RBIs each as the Cardinals beat the Timberwolves 18-2 to get the sweep.

NIC (20-2, 11-1 NWAC) has won 18 of its last 19 games and will face the Community Colleges of Spokane in a doubleheader on Wednesday starting at 2 p.m. in Post Falls.

Blue Mountain is 0-22, 0-12.
