Edward “Ed” Bruce Burdick

Edward “Ed” Bruce Burdick, 79, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away March 27, 2018, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, of a rare disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Ed was born Sept. 24, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., to Pauline Burdick.

Ed grew up in Chicago, where he attended and graduated from high school. He worked as a race horse trainer for many years. After his retirement as a race horse trainer, Ed worked as a ski instructor, but his true passion was riding and competing on a little red mule named Czar.

Ed met Ruth Lorraine Hentschel and they were later married. Together they raised five children. They were married for 56 years and were one another’s best friend.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; five children, Kim, Bonnie, Mark, Eddie and Ron; five grandchildren, Jamie, Bradley, Kenny, Brandy and Susie; four great-grandchildren; one nephew, Brett and two nieces, Sherry and Teresa.

Upon his request, no services will be held.

You were loved so much. You have touched many people in your lifetime. What a special man you have been. We will all miss you very much. Love to you my love, until we meet again.

Bell Tower Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
