Watching last week’s sports on TV, what I observed was quite interesting. At the start of some college games, the young men coming out on the field were led by one of them carrying the American flag. During the national anthem of the first game of the American League baseball games, every one of the players held their hands over their hearts during the national anthem. Even during the seventh-inning stretch when the song of “God bless America” was sung, everyone presented themselves, showing respect to the song even though it wasn’t the national anthem.

How different this is in contrast to the National Football League, who give a one-handed salute to our nation, flag and us veterans, many of whom gave their lives, fighting for their rights.

As far as I am concerned, Saturdays are now my day of football enjoyment and the National Football League no longer exists.
