MacDONALD: Rest of the story

| October 25, 2017 1:00 AM

I just wanted people to know what a great man Gary MacDonald is (Press, Oct. 23). Most of you know him for his fireworks display, and his marina. But I know him as a wonderful, caring friend.

Back in January 2006, I had a massive heart attack. I had been working for Gary’s competition. When Gary heard of my heart attack, he was the first person in my hospital room.

I explained to him that I would not be able to do my job anymore, and that I had to move to be closer to the hospital. Gary told me to let him know and he and his people would move me. I was lucky to find a place right away, and sure enough, Gary and his team were ready. They moved my wife and myself to Hayden, and wouldn’t even accept lunch as payment.

My family and I will never forget Gary’s unselfish and loving care he gave to us. A great businessman is one thing. A humanitarian is another. God bless Gary and his family for what they mean to Bayview, and to me.
