COMPLAINT: Trouble with turkeys

| October 25, 2017 1:00 AM

(Open letter to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and city of Hayden):

Can anything be done to reduce and control the wild turkey population in the area? They are royal pain in the (tail feathers), as are the deer. We cannot grow anything unless it is fenced and that does not always work. Additionally, they get on our second story deck and the (I will be polite and say droppings) they leave is a real cleanup problem, especially if it is raining.

The deer were probably here first and naturally (though probably not in the current numbers), but the turkeys were artificially injected for reasons I do not know or understand. I know we cannot shoot them or the deer in a residential neighborhood, but the turkeys could easily be trapped and donated to a food bank.

Please advise if such action can be taken or do I have to trap them on my own?
