PROTEST: A better way

| October 18, 2017 1:00 AM

I recently found on Wikipedia, 407,300 service men and women died in World War II. I read elsewhere that on average we lost 6,600 American soldiers per MONTH, that’s about 220 a DAY. Think about that; the clear majority of them volunteered knowing they may well be giving up their young lives to defend their country.

People who were not around during World War II or have no clue of its history where it’s not being taught in schools, have no understanding of the magnitude of lost lives and willing sacrifice. This does not include the MILLIONS murdered by Nazi Germany during the Holocaust just for being Jewish.

I wonder how those who show disrespect to the United States of America, whether it be kneeling during the National Anthem, desecrating the American flag, or destructive protests in the streets, would be treated if Germany had won the war and they showed the same disrespect to the German flag and anthem? Not to worry though; nearly half a million U.S. service men and women made sure you could be yourself, without fear.

Solution: Protest respectfully. More people will listen when they’re not offended.

God bless America; not perfect, but still the best. If I didn’t believe it, I would go somewhere else.
