TAXES: Adopt age cap

| November 29, 2017 12:00 AM

I am 83+ years old and I have never attended school in the state of Idaho. My children are in their 50s and never attended a school in Idaho and they live in another state.

Our tax bill is $3,500+ and more than half of this bill is for school tax. We have talked to other people who have school-age children and they have taken them out of the public school system in Kootenai County because of the lack of “teaching” and placed them in private schools.

I would think that once we reach a certain age, we should not be required to pay school taxes.
