Saundra Lewis Locke (Perry)
Saundra Lewis Locke (Perry), 83, was born April 22, 1934, in Tulsa, Okla., to Colonel Claude J. Perry, JD and Martha Perry (Lewis).
She graduated from high school in Las Vegas, Nev., and was crowned Miss North Las Vegas in 1951. Saundra attended Tulsa University for two years and then transferred and graduated from a business college in Tulsa.
Saundra met her future husband, Bob Price, at T.U. in a Geology class, where he teased her about her bright red hair. They were married in 1952. The couple had one child, Rhonda Covelli (Price).
Saundra, affectionately known as Sandi to family and friends, worked as a medical records transcriptionist for many years. In 1980, she became a Realtor and worked for Coldwell Banker, in Kent, Wash. She was very successful and was named Realtor of the Year in 1998.
Sandi developed Parkinson’s disease in 2007, was devastated by the diagnosis, and struggled bravely for many years.
Sandi is survived by her only child, Rhonda Covelli; son-in-law, Dr. Henry Covelli; granddaughters, Stephanie (Mark) Sample and Catherine (Chris) Cambridge and two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Alexandra Cambridge.
Also, by her dearest “compadres,” Reba Buchan, Beverly Paulson and John Gilfeather, with whom she traveled extensively throughout the USA, and the world … loving every adventure. Sandi was the most wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. We are all forever changed by her kindness, love and unending support.
Rest in peace, dear mother, your suffering has finally ceased.
