MEDIA: Anti-gun bias
The Press failed to mention in their article on Nov. 8 about the Sutherland Church shooting some information apparently, because it does not fit into the media’s agenda on reminding everyone how evil firearms are. What they failed to note was that the killer was confronted by a legally armed civilian who at risk of his own life used his firearm to help stop the killings and possibly prevent more victims, but giving credence to that would go against the nation’s media view on firearms. What people should remember is that firearms do three things: 1. They Work, 2. They Fail, 3. They Rust and that is all. The EVIL comes from the Heart.
Why does the media always seem to take advantage of a tragedy like this to disrespect the victims so they can hurry and put out a cry for more gun control to forward the view of anti-firearms groups?
There are many firearms laws and control measures already on the books. Let us try to find a way to effectively enforce the ones we have, not use the victims of these criminal acts to create more, that one day may prevent a citizen from taking the action of the gentleman in the article did.
