VOTE: Conflicting interests

| November 12, 2017 12:00 AM

Who should I cast my ballot for? I’m pro life, believe in God and attend church regularly. I can’t vote Democrat, because they support abortion and stem cell research. I can’t vote Republican, because they support the death penalty. The pope is against abortion and the death penalty, and like me, believes God created life and it is sacred — only God has the right to take a life. Certainly not Renfro and certainly not state-sponsored killing.

My pockets are not deep enough to seek Johnny Cochran’s advice. I suppose I’ll have to dismiss my moral values for the party and candidate that’s best for my own personal pocketbook. But wait, my priest says to do that invites corruption. I’m confused.
