CRIME: Inconsistent punishment

| November 10, 2017 12:00 AM

I have a question regarding the death sentence of the man who murdered Sgt. Greg Moore.

Although I do agree with the sentence for such a horrible crime to one of our city’s own who gave his life to protect ours and no amount of punishment could justify what this man did, I being a victim of a very brutal rape of 16 times and my sister 32 times that continued for more than a year, am puzzled as to why that man was only given a maximum of 20 years in prison and was released on parole after only seven years.

Why do people who rape children, murder families such as Joseph Duncan and the Groene family or many others who commit horrible crimes aren’t punished by death.

Also, if the death penalty was made illegal in Idaho amongst other states for being “inhumane,” then how was it legal to give this man the death penalty and not all of the other people who have committed just as equal of crimes?
