CONNER: For Timberlake fire
Sam Conner stands out for Fire Commissioner of Timberlake Fire Protection District - Zone 5.
Sam moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1974 after serving in Vietnam. We moved to Athol in 2004 to enjoy a more rural lifestyle in which to raise our son. Our son is one of many who has benefitted from the excellent volunteer program at TFPD. He is now a career Firefighter/EMT in another district.
Because of our son’s involvement at Timberlake, Sam became involved too. Finding extra time when he retired in 2016, Sam started volunteering there in Support Services. Doing so enabled him to see needs first as a citizen, but also from the firefighter’s perspective. He has no greater desire than to serve his community in this capacity.
Running his own business, tending to budgets; his years as a long-haul owner/operator; and working as a mechanic gives understanding for care of equipment that comes only through experience. His time spent in road construction, as well as working with hazardous materials makes him expressly qualified for this position. He is able to offer wisdom and common sense that is imperative.
Appointed to the position to fill a vacancy, Sam has already proven a benefit to the district, listening well to the voices of our citizens, and offering conservatively sound solutions. He has the support of both the board of commissioners as well as the firefighters. A balance that isn’t always easily reached.
Please vote Sam Conner on November 7th! You won’t be disappointed.
