The senior roared past the leader over the final 100 meters to win the 5A boys 300 intermediate hurdles at the recent state track meet at Dona Larsen Park in Boise. Ayers won in a school-record 38.27 seconds. “I really tried to block everything out and focused on my lane and focused on getting to the finish line as fast as I can,” Ayers said. “At the end of the day, that’s what I did. I couldn’t tell you anything about that race.”
