Erminne ‘Minnie’ Jean Quinn (Loe), 84

July 13, 1932 – May 19, 2017

Minnie was born on July 13, 1932, in Plummer, Idaho, to George S. and Iva J. Loe (Bueadrau). She was the 10th of 13 children.

As a child, Minnie loved to play baseball and basketball. In her later years, she played with a woman’s town league. She enjoyed camping, berry picking, sewing and was a self-taught guitar player from the age of 13. She loved to sing and play the guitar for family and friends around the campfire.

She met Bernard “Barney” Quinn in the summer of 1948, and the couple were married on Dec. 18, 1948. Minnie didn’t finish high school at this time, but always said she would go back and finish with her eldest child. In 1950, they welcomed their first child, Keith, into the world followed by Peggy, Randy and Tom. In 1969, both Minnie and Keith graduated from Plummer High School.

Minnie was a homemaker and stayed at home to mother their four children. When the children were raised, she worked cleaning houses and at a café in Plummer. When Barney retired, he and Minnie started spending winters in Apache Junction, Ariz., with family and friends.

Minnie is preceded in death by her sisters, Lila, Georgia, Mildred and Marybelle; her brothers, Ralph, Albert, Eugene, Jim and Eldon; her parents and her beloved husband, Barney. She is survived by her children, Keith and (Kathy) Quinn, Peggy and (Roger) Bafus, Randy Quinn and Tom, and (Kay) Quinn; her sisters, Nadine Mann, LaVonne Buster and Lucille Jones; as well as two sisters-in-law, Junita Loe and Adalor Guibb. She had 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Valley Vista nursing staff for the great care you gave our mom.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery in Plummer, Idaho. Schanzenbach Funeral Home, Fairfield, Wash., is in charge of the arrangements.
