Mary Ann Ruth Coomes, 74

Mary Ann Ruth Coomes passed away peacefully on May 18, 2017, with her family surrounding her. She will be immensely missed.

Mary Ann was a precious firecracker of a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, sister, aunt and best friend. Mary Ann truly was loved by all who knew her. She was devoted to her family and created an atmosphere of unconditional love and acceptance that will continue on as her legacy. Mary Ann had a passion for adventure and learning, was feisty until the end and will forever be remembered for her appreciation of a good cup of coffee and a murder mystery.

Born to Helen and John Bremgartner in Los Angeles, Calif., in 1943, Mary Ann grew up with three brothers and two sisters during a time where money was tight and family ties were stronger. As the mother of three, Mary Ann worked hard all her life, and valued family above all else, helping and supporting her children and grandchildren in any way she could. It is a comfort for her family to know that Mary Ann has now joined the love of her life in death, as well as her beloved brother, Billy. In the days leading up to her death, she was surrounded by her loved ones, who were thankful to be able to express their appreciation and love for her. We will meet again in love on the other side.

Her family would like to extend their thanks to Kootenai Health and the Circle of Life ward, especially, Dr. Todd Hoopman, Toni, Jackie, Cless, Julie, Rae Ann and Britney for their loving care and welcoming atmosphere for all of her many visitors; as well as her personal doctor, Dr. Morgan Ford.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kootenai Humane Society.

A celebration of her life will take place at 1 p.m. today, May 27, 2017, at her home.

Beloved Mary Ann, forever in our hearts.
