Phyllis Elizabeth Brison, 80

Phyllis Elizabeth Brison, 80, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away May 24, 2017. Phyllis was born on Dec. 5, 1936, in Oracabessa, Jamaica, West Indies, to Walter and Phyllis King.

In 1949, she immigrated to the United States and lived in Queens, N.Y., with her father and stepmother. After graduating from high school, Phyllis was given a scholarship to attended Bellevue School of Nursing to become a registered nurse.

She met and married Arthur A. Brison in Trenton, N.J., on July 27, 1957, and moved to the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area where she worked and raised their family. Phyllis worked as a registered nurse in both Spokane and Coeur d’Alene until her retirement in 1984. After she retired, she moved to Hayden Lake and lived there until she moved into assisted living in 2011.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in 2015; and her granddaughter, Katelyn Marie Brison, in 2003. She is survived by her sons, Dan, Dale, Dean and Duane Brison, and their families.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, Idaho, with a reception following.
