Lillian ‘Virginia’ Leccese, 87

Lillian “Virginia” Leccese from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away May 10, 2017, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House. Virginia was born Sept. 16, 1929, to Deuane and Nora Leonard in Sandpoint, Idaho. She grew up and attended school in Sandpoint.

She married James Perry on Nov. 3, 1948, later divorcing. She remarried Andrew Leccese on Feb. 14, 1961. They were married for 44 years before Andy passed away. For 25 years, Virginia worked at J.C. Penney as a bookkeeper, and for 10 years she worked at North Idaho Community Action. She also lived in Florida, Moscow and California.

Her hobbies included camping with Good Sam’s, traveling, crafts, and spending all the time she could at her lake cabin on Cocolalla. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge. Virginia was an avid Gonzaga Fan!!!!!

She is survived by her daughter, Jerrilou Shofner of Post Falls; her brother, Cecil and sister-in-law Ruth Leonard of Tiverton, R.I.; granddaughters Alyssa and Patrick Stromberg of Medicine Lake, Mont., Brandie and Rod Hansen of Post Falls, and Crystal and Cameron Moore of Post Falls; great-grandchildren Matthew Snider of Post Falls, Shawntel and Earl Gilbert of Post Falls, Leslie and Shylo Deubner of Post Falls, Connor Huft of Medicine Lake, and James, Karlie and Levi Moore of Post Falls; adopted great-granddaughter Delayne Dye of Post Falls; great-great-grandson Robert Gilbert; and two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by son Doug Perry; grandson Shawn Perry; one son-in-law, LeeRoy Shofner; and both husbands and parents.

She will be missed by her family — we love you forever!
