Trail Maniacs series on tap

| May 13, 2017 12:00 AM

While the road running season is in full swing, you can run against competition through the area’s state parks as well.

The Trail Maniacs State Park Series starts next Saturday, May 20, at Farragut State Park. The 5-race series ends Oct. 28 at Hell’s Gate State Park, with stops at Heyburn, Mount Spokane and Riverside (Bowl & Pitcher) state parks between.

The SPS is a trail run point series and will include the 10K, 25K and 50K distances. A runner’s best four of five races in the series will count toward the series standings. SPS will include one race per month from May through October, and have more than $4,000 in prizes for the overall series. Runners and families are encouraged to stay the weekend, as each of the state parks offer camping and showers.

For information about our fatass runs and other non-SPS events subscribe to us on Facebook or trailmaniacs.com.

Each of the courses will be on single track with very little elevation gain/loss per lap (less than 1,000 feet).
