VETS: Choose wisely, folks

| May 12, 2017 1:00 AM

The Press published my letter about my Elle dog. She died needlessly of congestive heart failure on April 26. It was her birthday. She turned 11 years old that day. I guess I thought I’d have her forever. Didn’t happen.

The only feedback I got was, why post it if you don’t name names? I would love to. It’s called libel if written, slander if spoken.

The second veterinarian is Dr. Holly Brody. She’s at U.S. 95 and Hayden. She is amazing. She did her best. It was just too late for Elle. With Dr. Brody, I didn’t have to wonder if she cared.

I’m looking to find a cocker pup to start over. I think that’s the only way I can stop crying over my Elle girl. And I always thought I was a tough guy.

I gave the first vet a much longer and comprehensive letter than what I sent to The Press. The restriction on letter submissions allows only 250 words. I would like nothing more than to shame him out of business. I thought he might want to talk it out. Not him. He has never called. Never tried to set the record straight. I think that shows how little he cares.

I will spend the rest of my life telling this story. Maybe, just maybe, I can save someone’s pet.
