Rose Alice (Storseth) Welsh-Lodahl, 81

Born in Deer Park, Wash., on Feb. 20, 1936, to Oscar and Myrtle Storseth, Rose entered Heaven’s Gate on April 2, 2017.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Bedroom Gold Mine in Murray, Idaho.

Rose spent the beginning of her life being shuffled from the Good Shepherd’s and foster homes. Her mother was not able to take care of her or her siblings, Bobby, Lucille, Alfred, Rose, Nick, Terry, Shirley and Darlene, all of whom have passed on over the course of time.

Rose married at 16, and is our beloved devoted mother and homemaker. She dedicated her life to raising and encouraging her entire family and friends. She was an extremely talented seamstress and made clothes for the whole family, along with taking care of all the farm animals and spending a lot of time at the lake cabin we built together as a family.

She was preceded in death by her loving first husband, Lee Spencer Welsh, who worshiped the ground she walked on for their 35 years of marriage. They were blessed with four children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren she has cherished forever.

Lee suddenly passed away at an early age of 51, which was extremely painful for her and the family.

Moving on with her life, she met O.J. Lodahl. They were good for each other.

They were soon married and happily settled in Murray. We all accepted him into the family with open arms. They began a new life together, which continued for another 30 years until O.J. passed in November 2015.

She recently moved down the street to her dream home (the fourth home she had owned in Murray). She was doing really great until a stroke put her in the hospital where she never recovered. She will always be remembered for her big heart filled with loving and kind words of encouragement. She rarely spoke an unkind word about anyone.

The family gives all those who were part of mom’s life and care, our greatest gratitude!

Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know that I Am God!”

Her strength came from her faith in God. Now she’s free, full of eternal life, happiness, singing “and dancing” with Jesus, just as He promised to all who believe.

She is carried on by all four of her children, Rick Welsh, Randy Welsh (Sue), Debbie Welsh-Waagenaar and Tammie Welsh-Cadwalader (Mike). Rose has nine grandchildren, two of which, Rex and Levi, were already waiting for her in Heaven with open arms. She is also carried on by her grandchildren, Max, Rickey, Spencer, Luke, Logan, Lincoln and Leah; nine great-grandchildren, Dustin, Marxx, Austin, Hunter, Xzavior, Shelby, Lexie, Nixen and a surprise package due in July.

Rose has many extended family members through the Welsh Clan, Lodahl family and Storseth family. She is greatly missed by all.

There is NO replacement for a loving, kind hearted and faithful woman like her.

Mom believed in miracles and blessings, she is one.

We all love you and we miss you greatly!
