DeHaas, a junior first baseman from Coeur d’Alene High and Wenatchee Valley Community College, was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Player of the Week, going 8 for 12 in four games last week (.667 batting average) and helping the Bald Eagles cap the regular season. DeHaas had two doubles, one home run and four runs batted in. In a May 6 doubleheader against nationally-ranked West Chester, Loch Haven (31-16) clinched its first playoff berth since 2009, with DeHaas going 5 for 6 with a home run and four RBIs.

Bevacqua, a sophomore from Lake City High who transferred from the University of Washington, earned honorable mention honors on the Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-conference team.

Heading into Wednesday’s play, Bevacqua was hitting .284 in 46 games for the Cavaliers, an NCAA Division II squad in Portland, including 43 starts. He had a team-leading 48 hits including a team-high five home runs, as well as five doubles and a triple. The Cavalier right fielder has driven in a team-leading 29 runs and scored 22 times. He has posted a .414 slugging and .339 on-base percentage while going 6 for 6 in stolen bases. In the outfield, Bevacqua had a .991 fielding percentage.
