Val Dean Rickel, 66
Val Dean Rickel, 66, passed away April 23, 2017, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born in Coeur d’Alene on June 23, 1950, to Iven and Edith (Murray) Rickel.
He graduated from Lakeland High School in Rathdrum, Idaho; following graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and served our country for the next eight years.
Val was an avid fisherman, who also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; sister Janet Powell; daughter Kyla; and stepchildren Rhayne White, Laura Wood, David Robinson, Erin Robinson and several grandchildren.

Services for Val will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. There will be a luncheon following the service at the American Legion, 5525 E. Hwy 54, Athol, Idaho.
Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
