CDA PD: Suspicious salespersons reported

| May 9, 2017 1:00 AM

The Coeur d’Alene Police Department used social media Monday to alert citizens of the following:

Over the past week, law enforcement agencies in Kootenai County have received several reports of a suspicious male and female going door to door claiming to represent both Direct TV and Dish Network. The couple is claiming to sell or upgrade services provided by both Direct TV and Dish Network and has asked questions about when residents will be home. The Coeur d’Alene Police Department has contacted both Direct TV and Dish Network, but has not been able to verify if these individuals represent either company.

The Coeur d’Alene Police Department is urging citizens to be cautious when dealing with anyone soliciting products or services at your home. If someone comes to your home to sell something, ask to see their credentials including photo identification and never give out personal information to anyone you don’t know. If the individual(s) seem suspicious, contact law enforcement immediately.
