Von Lindern

Jerold ‘Jerry’ Von Lindern, 69

Jerold “Jerry” Von Lindern, of Virginia Beach, Va., originally from Post Falls, Idaho, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Sentra Leigh Hospital with family at his side.

Jerry was born on Dec. 6, 1947, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Doyle and Norma (Lanter) Von Lindern. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jim and Larry; and his sister, Pat. Jerry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.

While in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk, Va., he met his future wife and they settled in Virginia Beach. Jerry loved coaching soccer and did so for 20 years. He retired in 2005 after working in Civil Service and he and his wife enjoyed traveling across the United States. His love for his home in North Idaho remained strong as did his support for Boise State football.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Joyce; his daughter, Aubrey of Woodstock, Va.; his sister, Sheila, also of Virginia Beach; his brother, Mike of Post Falls; his much loved Schnauzer, Gunther; and many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Private services with family will be held at a later date. Remembrances of Jerry may be made to The National Stroke Association or The American Society for The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

“Loss leaves a heartache nothing can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
