Ethel Iverson, 79

Ethel Mary Iverson was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. She passed away peacefully at home in Dalton Gardens, Idaho, on May 2, 2017, after courageously fighting health issues for many years.

Having grown up in a rural part of British Columbia, she moved to Seattle, Wash., where she met Jack Iverson, her love and partner in life for 54 years. They married in Seattle and moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where their only child, Theresa was born. In 1974, they moved back to the Pacific Northwest and settled in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where Jack was raised. They owned and operated Iverson’s Furniture for 25 years.

In the fall of 1993 her only grandchild, Riley Bowles, was born which started a new chapter as a proud grandma attending many sporting events and important achievements.

She was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables, which she later made into relishes, jams or canned for the winter months, always having extra on hand and giving them away to family, friends or the church for a good cause. She also loved to go camping and spending time in the outdoors roaming the back roads and breathing the fresh air.

Most importantly, she was a child of God. She always tried doing her best to support her church, fellow worshipers, attending Bible studies and doing daily devotions.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred; father Jack; brother Frank; and sisters Georgia, May and June. She is survived by her sister, Jane; brother Dick; husband Jack; daughter Theresa and son-in-law Cory; and grandson Riley Bowles.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Hayden Bible Church, 290 E. Miles Ave., Hayden Lake, Idaho.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to UGM Center for Women and Children, 196 W. Haycraft Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814 or a charity of your choice.
