COEUR d’ALENE — Seniors Cameron Luckey, Jackson Sumner and Kallen Langley had two hits each as the Coeur d’Alene Vikings beat the visiting Lake City Timberwolves 13-1 in 5A Inland Empire League play on senior day Thursday at Ted Page Field.

Quinton Bunch went 3 for 3 and drove in a pair of runs for Coeur d’Alene (12-9, 4-7 5A IEL).

“Our seniors led the charge today,” Coeur d’Alene coach Nick Mahin said. “We got back to playing Viking baseball.”

Kodie Kolden went 3 for 3 for Lake City (11-8, 6-6).

The 5A Region 1 tournament begins Monday, with No. 4 seed Coeur d’Alene visiting No. 1 Lewiston, and No. 2 Lake City at home vs. No. 3 Post Falls.

RATHDRUM — The Hawks shelled the Tigers in a nonleague game at Terry Gorton Field.

Ryan Pote hit an inside-the-park home run and a triple to lead the Hawks (10-8) and JJ Mackesy had two triples.

I was very pleased with how we hit the ball tonight,” Lakeland coach Jason Bradbury said. “We had a lot of great at-bats and hit the ball solid up and down the lineup.”

Timberlake (5-8) was limited to just four hits.
