Lakeland's Waddington medals at Sandpoint Invite

SANDPOINT — Lakeland’s Ashton Waddington shot a 4-over 75 to earn medalist honors on Monday at the Sandpoint Invite played at the Idaho Club, the lone Jack Niklaus golf course in Idaho.

The Post Falls boys, led by a 77 by Tanner Byers, won the team event by two strokes over Lewiston.

The Lakeland girls won in a playoff after tying at 390 with Post Falls. All five players played the par 3 No. 16 again, with the top four scores counting. The Hawks posted a 15, while the Trojans shot 16.

Area teams are at the Lakeland Invite on Friday, with the boys at the Links in Post Falls and the girls at Twin Lakes.
